3D Production & Workflow

Media professionals and freelancers will be provided with a demonstration of the latest equipment and techniques for 3D production and workflow at a free event on the 5th May at the University of Sunderland.

Organised in association with the Royal Television Society (RTS), the event will take place at the University’s David Puttnam Media Centre, one of the most vibrant and well equipped media centres in the UK, between 4.30pm and 6.30pm. It will feature talks from leading manufacturers and suppliers, AVID, EditShare, JVC and Digital Garage who will be showcasing the latest 3D technology and equipment.

Speaking of his delight at securing the support of the RTS and the major equipment manufacturers and integrators, Gary Stubbs, Media Project Manager, at the University said: This is a really exciting event for the North East as it provides media professionals with a rare opportunity to speak directly to multiple manufacturers at one time and to take a close look at the latest technologies in 3D post production workflow equipment.

Attendees will see first-hand the range of facilities and funded schemes available to support their businesses at the University and be provided with details of the latest short courses, including, Avid, Steadicam, Final Cut and After Effects.

The state-of-the-art facilities at the University, which are available for businesses to use and engage with, include two TV studios, four digital radio studios, a 200-seat cinema and a host of video editing suites and journalism/PR workshops equipped with the latest design and database software.

One such company that has benefited from the University’s support is Newcastle based film and production company, Superkrush. Chris Taylor, the company’s Managing Director, will share his experiences of working with the University on key production projects.
