In 1990, Andrew Ward, Group Managing Director at Workwear Express Limited (WWEL) started his career selling work and leisure wear from his van when he was only 17 years old.  21 years later, his business WWEL has become the UK’s leading online superstore for uniforms, work wear and promotional apparel. 

Based in Durham, the company produces apparel for over 8,000 businesses.  The company’s boasts an enviable client list ranging from local SMEs to some of the biggest brands in the UK and Europe such as Aston Martin, MITIE, Xerox, HMV, Gordon Ramsey, Nokia, Sage and DFDS Seaways to name a few.

WWEL is made up of three service divisions;  Workwear Express - the one-stop-shop for all your work wear needs; Workwear Express Corporate - a dedicated service for larger account managed clients (250 wearers +) that are looking for high-end, off-the-shelf or bespoke work wear solutions; and Printwear Store - a specialist division catering for promotional apparel. 

All off-the-shelf and bespoke apparel have the option to be personalised to the client’s specification using a variety of techniques.  WWEL offer a range of services utilising the industry’s leading technologies from heat sealing, embroidery to screen printing.

WWEL is a financially solid company with a bright future ahead of it. The company does not rely on funding, and have no debts or loans in place.
