Opera singer flattened by squirrel
A squirrel has put the world premiere of a Finnish opera in jeopardy, reports MSNBC.com. Baritone singer Esa Ruuttunen was cycling to a rehearsal at the Helsinki Opera House when a squirrel ran straight into his spokes. The singer came off the bike, broke his nose and knocked himself out. The opera singer is being treated for his injuries, and whether ‘Kaarmeen Hetki’ (‘Hour of the Serpent’) will still open on September 15th remains to be seen. Sadly the squirrel did not survive the bike collision.
