Roofing business to create new jobs and double turnover with move to Lindum Business Park
A York-based roofing company is planning to create new jobs and double its turnover after moving to a new home.
TA Roofing has relocated from sites in York and Bishopthorpe to the Lindum Business Park at Elvington, just off the A64.
Stuart Simpson, managing director of TA Roofing, says the move will provide the space needed to meet a growing demand for services.
The will also allow him to recruit at least six more people, taking TA Roofing’s total workforce to 18.
Mr Simpson said: “I started the business in 2009 and we have been growing ever since,” he said. “I am not someone who can just sit still – I want to keep pushing and expanding. We had reached capacity at our old sites and we couldn’t continue to grow without relocating.
“It’s actually quite hard to find somewhere that has both office and storage space. We were also keen to be on this side of York as the traffic connections and road links are so much better here.
He added: “We had been looking for a long time when my wife Maria, who is the company Accounts and Business Manager, had a doctor’s appointment in Elvington. She spotted to ‘To Let’ sign outside the building, which is next to the surgery.
“We decided to come and have a look round and we felt it was a perfect fit for our needs. The new premises are 8,000 sq feet in size plus office areas, which is four times bigger than our old place allowing us plenty of space to develop.
“Lindum were very helpful following our initial enquiry and made the letting process and moving in stress free. They were also able to adapt to our individual requirements and we hope we can continue to grow on this site.”
Lynn Ritson, business park manager Lynn Ritson, commeted: “We are really happy to have TA Roofing among the first tenants on our new business park. It’s wonderful that we were able to meet their needs and we are continuing to work with them to ensure the space they have taken fits their business going forward.
“The business park opened at the start of the year and has proved popular, with only one office space still available.”
