Breck Homes appoints North West land chief

Affordable housing developer Breck Homes has appointed Andrew Laing as head of land for the North West as it continues to grow its development pipeline across the region.

Andrew brings more than 25 years’ experience in planning, land acquisition and residential development, joining from Persimmon Homes Lancashire where he progressed through a series of senior positions to become land director.

In his new role, Andrew will lead Breck’s regional land team and identify and secure brownfield and greenfield development opportunities, supporting the company’s target of delivering around 500 new affordable homes a year across the North West within the next 18 months.

Andrew said: “Breck is a business with clear ambition, strong leadership and a very pragmatic approach to development, and that was a big part of what attracted me to the role.

“There is a growing need for affordable housing across the North West, and Breck has a model that is well placed to respond to that demand. 

“My focus will be on working with the team to secure high quality land opportunities, build close relationships with landowners and partners, and add value to the business through proactive, commercially focussed land acquisition.”

Andrew’s appointment forms part of Breck Homes’ continued investment in its North West operations, strengthening its land acquisition capability as the business expands its pipeline of affordable housing developments across the region.
