Lumo gets on board with The Lilyheads
A rail operator is getting on board for the new football season after striking a partnership aimed at connecting supporters with away fixtures in London.
Newcastle-headquartered Lumo has become Preston North End FC’s Official Rail Travel Partner, building on the launch of its new service between London and Stirling via Preston in May.
The Championship club is scheduled to make five trips to the capital this season, facing Charlton Athletic, QPR, Millwall, Watford and West Ham.
Lumo says fares starting at under £30 will provide another travel option for supporters heading to those fixtures, as well as fans travelling to home matches at Deepdale.
The operator runs five services each day between London Euston and Preston, with four continuing between Preston and Stirling and serving destinations across Scotland’s Central Belt.
Mike Roberts, partnerships manager at Lumo, said: “Preston North End and the railway are two of the things that make the city what it is, and two key parts of our history.
“We’re proud to be part of that story at Lumo and thrilled to be offering an affordable and exciting way to travel to the capital.”
Jonathan Breeze, Preston North End’s head of strategic partnerships, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Lumo as Preston North End’s Official Rail Travel Partner.
“Their new service provides our supporters with an affordable and convenient way to follow the Lilywhites, particularly for our fixtures in London this season.
“We look forward to working closely together to benefit both our fans and the wider Preston community.”
The partnership follows Lumo achieving an overall customer satisfaction score of 90 per cent in the latest Rail Customer Experience Survey, covering October 2025 to March 2026.
It ranked among the three highest-performing long-distance operators and topped the survey for value for money.
