BKL appoints regulatory advisory head

Accounting, audit, business and tax advisory firm BKL has appointed Ben Arram as head of regulatory advisory, expanding its offering to fintech and financial services businesses.

Ben brings more than 20 years of experience advising payment service providers, e-money institutions, Open Banking businesses, banks, capital markets and financial market infrastructures.

He joins from regulatory consultancy Bovill, which was acquired by global asset servicer Ocorian, where he built and led its payments practice.

In his new role, Ben will advise businesses on regulatory risk and compliance, with a particular focus on payment service providers, e-money institutions and other fintech companies.

He has previously worked alongside BKL to support clients with Financial Conduct Authority compliance and client money audits.

Ben said: “Joining BKL is an exciting step for me.

“Having worked closely with the BKL team for many years, and seen how great they are at guiding regulated businesses through complex challenges, I’m delighted to now be part of that team.

“Fintechs, such as payments and e-money firms, are among the most innovative and customer-centric companies, both in the UK and globally.

“I’m looking forward to helping BKL support even more of these ambitious businesses at all stages of their development.”

Ben’s arrival follows a series of senior hires at BKL during 2026, including new partners and directors across tax, accounts and business services, audit and corporate finance.

The latest addition broadens the firm’s specialist financial services expertise as it continues to develop its advisory offering for business owners.

Lee Brook, chief executive at BKL, added: “Many of our clients, in financial services and beyond, are facing an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

“Ben has a superb reputation for helping new, growing and established businesses to navigate these challenges.

“I’m thrilled to be welcoming him to our team.

“By adding Ben’s considerable experience to our existing specialism in advising payments and e-money firms, we’re strengthening our services to forward-thinking businesses who are ready to go further.”
