MKM looks to build with legal operator partnership
A builders’ merchant has struck a legal deal aimed at hammering home expansion plans.
MKM Building Supplies is working with Gordons.
Bosses say the alliance will “support a continued investment drive to further expand and enhance operations throughout the UK”.
They add the partnership has already helped MKM extend its branch network to 149 sites through a deal for the business and assets of a base in New Milton, Hampshire, which was previously operated by New Milton Sand & Ballast.
Kate Tinsley, chief executive at Hull-headquartered MKM, said: “Gordons is straightforward, commercial and easy to work with, which fits well with how we like to do business.
“As we continue to grow, it is a trusted partner who can support us every step of the way.”
Paul Ayre, senior partner at Leeds-headquartered Gordons, added: “MKM is a business that knows what it wants to achieve and values practical advice and long-term relationships.
“We’re pleased to be working alongside the team and supporting its continued growth.”
Gordons, which also operates a Bradford office, previously supported convenience and petrol forecourt retailer Samy Group on a £15 million HSBC refinancing deal, and counts AO, Morrisons, Ocado Retail and Wren Kitchens among its wider client base.
