Holiday park operator in 'landmark' £4 million move
A leisure operator has unveiled £4 million investment plans.
Verdant Parks is set to revamp Thurston Manor Holiday Park.
Bosses say the “landmark” outlay will transform the Scottish attraction into a “flagship destination”.
They add the project – described as the largest single investment in the company’s history – will include a new 18-metre swimming pool, a social hub, activities complex and upgraded gym facilities.
Elsewhere, the blueprint for the park, based near Dunbar, in East Lothian, includes a new sports bar and restaurant, a refreshed show bar, an alpine style curling terrace, a nine-hole outdoor pirate-themed golf course and a padel court.
Work is earmarked to begin in November and be finished ahead of Easter next year.
Simon Lane, chief executive at Lancaster-headquartered Verdant Parks, said: “This is an exciting time for our employees, our owners and our holidaymakers.
“The investment will ensure Thurston Manor becomes one of Scotland’s most sought-after holiday destinations.”
Verdant Parks’ wider Scottish portfolio includes holiday venues in Ayrshire, Berwickshire, Dumfriesshire and Perthshire.
It has further bases in County Durham and Northumberland.
