Sleeperz Hotels, the budget hotel operator, has appointed a management team ahead of opening its new Newcastle property.
Mark Armstrong has been named as general manager, while Deborah Parkinson has been hired as sales manager.
Deborah said: “This is a great opportunity to develop my career by helping grow a new and exciting budget hotel brand.
“The hotel is already looking superb and we are all looking forward to putting Sleeperz Hotels on the map in the North of England.
Newcastle airport’s new Doubletee hotel will be managed by Irishman Seamus O’Hara.
Having worked in hospitality for a number of years, Seamus brings experience from major chain hotels.
He said: “This is a lovely property and there’s something about airport hotels that makes them have a very cosmopolitan feel.
“We also want to make sure that the hotel is not just for travellers, but because of all the facilities that are available we hope it will also be well used by the people of the North East.”
Darlington Building Society has appointed two new non-executive directors to join its board.
Kate Davies and Alison Thain, OBE, were both appointed to the Society Group Board.
Alison commented: “Mutuals, like Darlington Building Society play a vital role in our local economies and I look forward to using my skills and experience to contribute to its continuing success in the coming period.”
