Suffolk brewer scoops entrepreneurial prize
Suffolk brewery Calvors have been crowned winners of THE ONE competition, which searches for the best entrepreneurial businesses in East Anglia.
Alec Williamson, who set up the brewery on his family farm in 2008, has scooped the £50,000 prize.
The competition is the brainchild of PR agency Voice Communications, who have put together the prize winning package, that includes a whole range of business services.
Calvors will now receive marketing and design consultancy services, as well as advertising as part of the winnings.
The prize also includes leadership and management coaching, call answering services, accountancy, and legal advice.
Commenting on his win, Alec said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for Calvors and we are absolutely delighted to have won, as the prize is going to make such a difference to our business at this crucial time.
“We can’t wait to get the ball rolling as we take the brand nationwide.”
Calvors prides itself on creating real English lagers, brewed in the heart of Suffolk, using locally grown ingredients such as malted barley and whole hops.
The firm currently produces four original flavours, including 3Point8, Premium, Amber and Dark; all intended to be natural.
