Branson begins hunt for next big ethical idea
Sir Richard Branson is searching for the next big ethical or socially aware business, as part of an online competition.
Sir Richard’s charity, Virgin Unite is looking for the best new businesses who feature in his next book, and to be flown on an all expenses “connection” trip to South Africa.
‘Screw Business As Usual’ is the title of the new book from the business magnate’s new book, which showcases a growing community focused on business as a force for good.
Businesses are being encouraged to enter through a story or brief description of their idea in action; whether this be the creation or transformation of a business, or the start of a consumer movement that will create demand for better products and services.
Each month, the top five entries will be voted for, and will go on to receive a prize. The top ten ideas will then be voted for by the online community, by April 17, before a grand prize winner is selected by an independent judging panel.
The overall winner will be taken on a Virgin Unite Connection Trip to South Africa, to learn from front-line leaders who are making change happen, and turning capitalism on its head.
