Vista Support lands Careers Wales award
Vista Support, the retail IT support specialist, has been recognised by Wales’s leading careers agency for its contribution to helping young people start out in the world of work.
The Cardiff-based firm, which provides technology and IT support to retailers, was named a Most Valued Partner for its role in the Teacher Placement and Work Experience programme, part of the Education Business Partnership run by Careers Wales.
The government-funded initiative aims to promote the training and early career development of young people in Cardiff and Vale.
Kathryn Powell, human resources manager at Vista Support, said: “We believe it is important for us to work with schools and colleges as partners in order to ensure that young people are prepared for the world of work. We see it as important as part of its existence in the community that we work alongside.”
Careers Wales Cardiff and Vale presented its Most Valued Partner awards to organisations that made an outstanding contribution to one or more of the five key strategic areas of the work of Careers Wales. Vista Retail Support were one of 37 winners presented with a specially-commissioned plaque at the awards evening, held at the Cardiff Hilton.
Jeff Cuthbert, AM and Deputy Minister for Skills, who presented the awards, said: “Careers Wales makes it clear that the success of the organisation, and their education business partnership activities in particular, are due to their relationships with partners including schools, colleges, employers and organisations from the public and voluntary sectors. The winners of these awards have gone that extra mile to make a difference.”
