Forums to update businesses on environmental legislation
Environmental solutions provider Valpak has launched a number of free Regional Forums for UK businesses, designed to keep them updated on environmental legislation.
The forums are free, and will cover topics including UK and international environmental legislation, government red tape review, energy management and waste management.
Representatives from the Environment Agency, Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) and the Department of Environment Northern Ireland (DOE NI) will form part of the panel of experts for some of these events.
Steve Gough, Valpak Chief Executive Officer, commented: “We understand that some businesses may find keeping up-to-date with legislation to be time consuming and complex, which is why we have launched these Regional Forums.
“They will provide an excellent opportunity for any business to make sure that they continue to be or are fully compliant with all environmental legislation that affects them.
“A number of companies are currently completing or have completed Civil Sanctions Enforcement Undertakings to make up for prior offences under the Packaging Waste Regulations in England and Wales.
“This demonstrates how non-compliance with environmental legislation can have both financial and reputational implications.
“Forum attendees can take away practical information which can be applied to their business strategies the very next day.
“The information that they will receive will help them to ensure that their business is compliant with all environmental legislation, as well as offering tips and advice on how to manage costs and enhance their reputation.”
The regional forums are held at various locations across the UK, and are open to all businesses. Those interested can book a place here.
