Cornwall and Scilly LEP launch strategy with webcast
The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP is inviting businesses to take part in a live webcast later this month to mark the official launch of its economic strategy.
On Thursday June 28, the Strategy will be launched via a live webcast with LEP Chairman Chris Pomfret.
A short film featuring a number of successful businesses from Cornwall and Isles of Scilly that reflect the key points of the strategy.
An hour long webchat will follow with Chris and fellow LEP board member Simon Tregoning, chairman of Helston based Classic Cottages.
Chris commented: “The strategy has been a year in the making and we have spoken to around 250 local businesses individually and through the 15 roadshows we took around Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly earlier this year.
“We received almost 100 responses to the draft strategy we published in May and have been very encouraged by the positive and constructive response from the business community.
“We want businesses to be in the driving seat to help us deliver this vision and that is why we are trying to reach as many as possible by launching it online.”
The strategy is focused around four main themes: business growth, skills, knowledge and the environment.
Priorities include inspiring all businesses to reach their national and global potential; creating great careers; creating value out of knowledge and using the natural environment responsibly as a key economic asset.
The webcast will be available at 11am at this link, and questions for Chris and Simon will can be emailed in advance, and on the day to the following address: webcast@cornwallandislesofscillylep.com.
