Truswell Haulage in £1.2M Move
Acting on behalf of The Co-op, the Industrial Agency team at CBRE’s Sheffield office has sold a 68,759 sq ft industrial unit in Barnsley to Truswell Haulage.
The self-contained Fallbank Crescent unit, which comprises a distribution warehouse and office accommodation within a ten-acre site at Fallbank Industrial Estate in Dodworth, was purchased by Truswell Haulage to enable them to consolidate their South Yorkshire operations. The family run firm, which was established over a century ago, has additional operating centres in Douglas (Lanarkshire) and at Scunthorpe, and a fleet comprising over 100 vehicles and 250 trailers.
The purchase will enable Truswell Haulage to relocate the bulk of their operations from their current premises adjacent to the new unit at Dodworth, and from their Sheffield Depot. This will allow them to contain the business and make use of the plentiful supply of land on the new site for possible future development. Truswell will be undertaking a comprehensive refurbishment of the building and site to convert the premises into a state of the art logistics facility.
Roger Haworth, Senior Director, Industrial Agency, CBRE Sheffield said; “The accommodation at Fallbank Industrial Estate allows for Truswell to consolidate its business into what will be an environmentally friendly tailor-made facility within their current location, thus ensuring minimum disruption for the major operator and its employees. The extensive site offers superb potential for possible further expansion and has the external storage and parking areas required by the occupier. Furthermore the site is situated in a strategic location just off Junction 37 of the M1 which provides good accessibility. “
