North Tyneside Businesses Tee Off for Charity
The business community of North Tyneside is ‘on course’ to raise money for a local charity later this summer by taking part in a golf tournament at one of the region’s premier sporting venues.
Representatives from all sections of the business world will gather at Tynemouth Golf Club to compete in the 9-hole challenge which will raise much needed funds to support the Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade, whose volunteer members have been carrying out coastal rescues in the area since 1864.
Whether you’re an established or an occasional golfer, you’re welcome to join in the competition for a £10 charity donation. But If golf is not your bag, then come anyway and join in the free networking event which takes place afterwards in the Clubhouse, where the winner will receive a trophy and you’ll get to meet and mix with other business people and community leaders.
The tournament takes place on Friday 24 August with a 1pm tee-off, with three balls going off at eight-minute intervals. The format will be Stableford. The networking event starts at 4pm.
Prospective golfers should book their place by ringing the Club Secretary on 0191 2573381, or email secretary@tynemouthgolfclub.com. Those who just want to network should email Sandra on business.forum@northtyneside.gov.uk.
The event is a joint initiative by the North Tyneside Business Forum, the North Shields Chamber of Trade, and Tynemouth Golf Club.
