The North East represented in Times Business Table
The Sunday Times has released a table compiling the fastest growing British companies on international sales. The North East is represented by four major companies.
The inaugural Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 league table ranks Britain’s companies with the highest growth in international sales.
The companies representing the North East Include Wallsend subsea engineering specialist SMD (29); Newcastle-based Aesica Pharmaceuticals (113) and Kilfrost (121), a de-icing fluid manufacturer based in Newcastle.
However the highest placing for a North East company was reserved for Pearson Engineering. They are a combat equipment manufacturer based in Newcastle, who manged to increase their international sales by 96% to £166m.
The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 league table ranks companies on compound annual growth rate in international sales over two years between 2008 and 2012. Total sales for the companies have to have a minimum of £25m and international sales of at least £1m in the latest financial year.
