O2 network service problem into second day
Thousands of O2 mobile phone customers have been unable to call or text since Wednesday afternoon, due to network problems.
The mobile network said its 2G network had been restored and customers could be able to make calls and send messages on Thursday morning only if their 3G mobile data is turned off.
O2 said in a statement: “ We can confirm that our 2G network service has now been restored. Customers who were affected should now be able to make and receive calls. Our 3G service is starting to restore and customers should expect to see a gradual return of data services as the day progresses. Customers affected may wish to try switching their mobile phones off and on as service returns.“
However, O2 still cannot be sure when its network will be fully restored.
