The state of the North East creative industry
If you live in the North East and have the passion and interest for TV, Film, and Radio then you are probably used to hearing that building a career in the media has never been so difficult in the UK, least of all within the North East. We are all aware of the employment rates in this region and it feels like the media history is among the worst hit.
However, while it might seem bleak at the moment, it is improving and we are adjusting and creating employment and careers in areas that didn’t exist before. After all, the show must go on. On Mind Your Own Business, Dom spoke to John Tulip (MD of Northern Film and Media) and John Hudson, (MD at [Online Video CV limited](http://www.onlinevideocv.com/? target= “Online Video CV”) and Owner of [Absolute Media North East](http://www.absolutemedianortheast.co.uk/? target= “Absolute Media North East”)) about what we can do to get into media successfully in today’s environment. And we are happy to report that there are plenty of ways to go about it.
For the full breakdown of what you can do to get into media, listen again to Mind Your Own Business here. This edition also features a round of up the week’s business news with Bdaily’s Tom Keighley, and a podcast feature around transferable skills.
