British ICT opportunities showcased to the world
ICT is the focus at Lancaster House today, as the British Business Embassy looks to showcase the best of UK ICT innovation and technology.
Delegates from around the world will be presented with opportunities for international business, and will hear from keynote speakers such as Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne; BBC director general Mark Thompson; and BT chief executive Ian Livingston.
The Chancellor, George Osborne, said: “The Government is determined to make Britain the technology centre of Europe, with the London’s Tech City at its heart.
“London 2012 is the perfect stage to show investors and entrepreneurs how much we have already achieved, and the exciting potential of what is to come. We are also proud to demonstrate the world-class innovation of the British tech industry, which is helping to deliver the most digitally-advanced Games in history.”
UKTI selected Southampton-based firm 51Degrees.mobi Ltd to represent Britain at the Summit, where they will present a portfolio of mobile device web optimisation software via a virtual exhibition platform.
Attendees will be shown why sites need to detect different devices and use content optimisation tools to improve the user experience on an expanding number of platforms.

Other areas of focus within the summit include: broadband; cloud and SaaS; digital innovation; smart infrastructure; video and image recognition, and AR.
Sessions will be led by senior representatives from organisations such as ARM, BBC, Cisco, CSR, Huawei Europe, IBM, Imperial College, LOCOG, Samsung and Telefónica 02 UK.
