Team TechGB
London is golden right now, welcoming athletes and visitors from all over the world, and proudly witnessing the culmination of years of rigorous, meticulous training.
What a wonderful contrast to the events of last summer, when young rioters [rampaged our streets](http://blog.veinteractive.com/2011/08/09/were-all-shop-keepers-now/? target= “Ve Interactive blog - rioters“) in an illegal shopping spree, wanting stuff instead of a life. Team GB, you are doing an amazing job of inspiring a generation.
Meanwhile, London has also gained a global reputation for being the go-to place for overseas entrepreneurs. “The city has the best ecosystem in Europe for digital companies. People in London think globally.” Stefan Glaenzer, digital entrepreneur and investor.
We agree! Thinking globally is certainly true for this cart recovery and data-driven servicescompany with it’s six offices worldwide and six EU language desks in London.
According to the head of the Government’s Tech City initiative, the digital sector is the only part of the economy that is capable of delivering significant growth in the near future, being the only industry where there has been a forecast of 10.9 percent growth in the next few years (Boston Consulting Group). And just down the road from the Olympic Park, Tech City companies alone employ around 48,000 people. Ve UK is responsible for creating over 80 of those jobs and we also have 10 new-starters waiting in the wings to begin their careers with us too! (If you’re interested,[we’re still hiring](http://www.veinteractive.com/careers.php“ target= “Ve Interactive careers“)).
So as we enter the exciting second week of the Olympics, it seems fitting to end this post with a quote from Mike Butcher, the co Founder of TechHub who wrote in [this article](http://mbites.com/2012/08/05/the-olympics-has-inspired-teamgb-—-maybe-now-its-time-for-techgb/? target= “Mike Butcher MBites blog“) at the weekend, “we’ve had the inspiration of #TeamGB. Maybe it’s time for #TechGB as well.”
Mike, here at Ve Interactive couldn’t agree more. We’re game!
