Private-sector voluntary resignations reach 9.3% last year
Resignations in the UK reached 9.3% in 2011, according to the latest survey taken from labour turnover rates and costs.
The private sector had the highest levels of resignations, with 11% of staff leaving, compared with 5.7% in manufacturing and production and 6.7% in the public sector,
These statistics report the number of voluntary departures, while the total labour turnover rate came to 15.6%, which includes dismissals, retirements and redundancies across the economy.
Figures released by XpertHR suggested that the higher rates of resignations in the private sector reflects the labour market’s greater buoyancy in this area.
Rachel Suff, of XpertHR said: “The private sector, overall, has been quicker to recover from the continuing harsh economic climate.”
