Charity Golf First for Age UK Northumberland
Age UK Northumberland, the charity that that helps older people throughout the county, will be hosting its very first Charity Golf Challenge on Thursday 20 September 2012.
All the funds raised from the event, to be held at the Macdonald Linden Golf and Country Club in Longhorsley, will be used to support Age UK Northumberland’s wide range of services, enhancing life for vulnerable, isolated and often lonely older people throughout Northumberland.
Golfers are invited to enter a team of four for a day of great golf, fine food and excellent networking opportunities. Team entry is just £250 and includes bacon roll on arrival, 18 holes of golf, two course buffet meal, longest drive and nearest the pin competitions and a range of other opportunities on the day to win some fabulous prizes.
Businesses can support the special day by sponsoring a hole for £30, Nearest the Pin or Longest Drive challenges for £35, or by being a Headline Sponsor for £750.
Announcing the event Catrina Flynn, Age UK’s Fundraising Manager in Northumberland, said:
“We are really excited to be holding our first ever Charity Golf Challenge. It’s a great fun way for local golfers to support what we’re doing.
“Everyone who takes part will have a really fun day in these beautiful surroundings, and will also be showing that that they care about the older people of Northumberland.”
