NURSERY FLYING HIGH AFTER AWARDS NOMINATION

A North East nursery which has been in operation for less than six months has been nominated for a major award.

Wallsend-based Little Butterflies Childcare Ltd was set up by Irene Orrick and Leanne Conway to offer services to parents in North Tyneside.

Since launching, the company has gone from strength to strength, creating nine jobs and providing care for dozens of children.

The staggering success Little Butterflies Childcare Ltd has had in such a short space of time has now been recognised, with the nursery shortlisted in this year’s Inspire Business Awards.

The awards – which take place at Bede’s World, Jarrow on October 3 - honour female entrepreneurs from across the North East and Little Butterflies Childcare Ltd has been shortlisted in the Best New Business section.

“We can’t believe how quickly the business has taken off and to be shortlisted for an award at this stage is amazing,” said 34-year-old Irene.

“It’s a great honour for us and we’re very excited and pleased, as this is confirmation that we are offering a service that there really is a market for.”

The nursery offers children a daily programme of activities which are created to stimulate them and help them develop in a fun and informative way.

It’s a strategy which has worked extremely well since the launch, with around 53 children signed up and attending on a regular basis.

“We are absolutely delighted with the way that parents have to chosen to use Little Butterflies Childcare Ltd and being in the running for an award alongside a range of other really impressive businesses is great testimony to our work.” said 39-year-old Leanne.
