Local photographer unveils online gallery
A far cry from starting his career in a darkroom in 2002, a local architectural photographer is celebrating his 10th year in business by unveiling an online gallery of his work.
As a result of increased popularity and demand, Steve Mayes Photography is celebrating a website re-launch, designed and built by South Shields design agency, Urban River.
Awarded the North East Architectural Photographer of the Year 2010 and 2011, Steve travels around the world photographing architecture which captures a sense of place; from local projects such as Infinity Bridge in Middlesbrough and Newcastle’s Quayside to temporary exhibition centres in Poland.
“As a photographer, my website needs to be visually very strong, but in such a way that the imagery is paramount. I like how the website looks like it was designed specifically for me” said Steve.
John Barker, Head of Digital at Urban River said “We were very excited to design a site which showcases Steve’s photos for maximum impact. After all, pictures speak louder than words.”
Steve added, “Urban River met expectations on all fronts, even dealing with my high demands and changing ideas about design! I look forward to my website drawing in lots of extra business.”
Steve’s work can also be seen on the walls of all 200 bedrooms in the Ramada Encore in Gateshead, cards are available to purchase in Waterstones, Fenwick and Blackwell’s and prints to purchase in The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle.
