About HR launches employer protection service

EMPLOYERS need protection from employment disputes, with more than 300,000 tribunal claims being made in the last year.

About HR – which was set up by Teesside law firm Archers Law in the spring – is expanding in response to greater demand for its advice on employment law and human resource issues.

Now it has launched a tailored insurance employment package designed to give businesses peace of mind when dealing with staff disputes and the threat of employment tribunal claims.

Elizabeth Casey, a director with About HR, said: “Businesses know that a successful employment claim against them could be extremely damaging, both in terms of the financial cost and valuable time. But having an insurance protection package means they won’t have to meet those costs should such an incident arise.

“They have peace of mind knowing that they always have access to expert, local and friendly advice, together with financial protection.”

About HR provides specific employment law and HR services for businesses, business owners and HR Managers particularly around employee discipline, disputes and grievance, as well as the effects these can have on business productivity.

The company has grown quickly adding HR employment specialist Sue Wood to the team in August and is now actively recruiting an additional specialist employment lawyer.

The expansion is in response to increasing demand for its services and the recent introduction of About HR Secure, an insurance employment package providing customers with a range of services and tribunal cost protection for a monthly premium.

Elizabeth Casey added: “Discontentment lowers morale and can distract a business, especially in these difficult economic times.

“But if employers know they can get advice addressing issues before they get out of hand, that can be a huge benefit and comfort. The beauty with the package from About HR is that because we are a local firm, we understand the business community and can build valuable, long-standing relationships with our customers.”
