Charity race night clears the fund rasing hurdle
PLANNING staff at one of the country’s largest consultancies have thanked the Yorkshire business community after raising almost £1,000 for a cancer charity.
Just over a year after moving into the region the Leeds office of Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners (NLP) hosted a successful charity race night in the city which raised over £900 for the Yorkshire Cancer Centre.
NLP director Justin Gartland, who established the Leeds office in June last year, said: “The race night was a huge success, raising over £900 which will contribute to the provision of equipment, research and patient home comforts.
“We were absolutely delighted by the support shown by our clients, co-consultants and NLP staff in helping us to raise such an impressive amount for Yorkshire Cancer Centre.”
The Yorkshire Cancer Centre is the fundraising arm of St James’s Institute of Oncology in Leeds, which treats over 2,000 patients from across Yorkshire every day.
The event, which took place at the Toast Bar & Bistro, was the Leeds office’s contribution to NLP’s successful national drive to raise £50,000 for charity this year – to mark the firm’s half century milestone.
As well as Leeds NLP also has offices in Manchester, Newcastle, Cardiff and London.
NLP’s Leeds office now employs four planners and recently relocated to larger premises in St Paul’s Street.
NLP’s first year in Leeds has seen new instructions secured on projects in York, Leeds, Bradford, East Riding, Ryedale, Kirklees, Wakefield, North York Moors National Park and Hull.
Earlier this year NLP was named Consultancy of the Year by the Royal Town Planning Institute for 2012.
