Malmaison parent firm calls in administrators
Luxury hotel and office space owners MWB Group Holdings have appointed administrators after reports of a dispute with one of its subsidiary businesses.
The parent company of Malmaison and Hotel du Vin appointed Deloitte’s Phil Bowers and Neville Kahn to “explore the options for realising value” of the firm.
Mr Bowers said: “The administration appointment is to MWB Group Holdings only and does not impact on the ongoing operation of its trading subsidiaries, including Malmaison Group and the MWB Business Exchange Group, the second largest serviced office provider in the UK. “
A dispute with one of MWB Holding’s office leasing subsidiary over lending between different sections of the company has reportedly sparked the firm to call in administrators.
Deloitte said all the trading subsidiaries of the Group would continue to run as usual.
MWB Holdings operates its Business Exchange subsidiary through 65 centres across the UK, and owns 26 hotels including sites in Manchester, Birmingham and Oxford.
