Dart Group reveal strong results
Jet2.com owners Dart Group have posted a 37% rise in profits, boosted by a strong summer across its travel businesses.
The travel and logistics group reported strong performance in the airline operations, and said its Jet2holidays continued to grow successfully.
Jet2.com flew 3.6m scheduled passengers in the period, an increase of 14%. The total number of routes served increased to 162, as the airline operate 44 aircraft.
Retail sales per passenger increased 10% to £30.77 through what was said to be a continued focus on pre-departure, in-flight and ancillary product sales.
Net cash flow of £81m was generated in the period, and increase from last year’s £10.7m.The Jet2holidays business managed to increase revenue by 117% to £180.6m, reflecting growth in package holiday offerings to existing airline destinations.
In Dart’s logistic business, Fowler Welch, overall revenues were up 8% on the half year. Fowler Welch specialise in FMCG distribution, and the firm’s “ambient” business had expanded revenues by 24%.
Chairman Philip Meeson said that whilst the marketplace is competitive, the outlook for Fowler Welch remained encouraging.
