SES Apprentice Takes Bronze at National Final
Josh Skitt, an apprentice with Shepherd Engineering Services (SES), has earned himself a Bronze medal at the recently held national UK Skill Pipe Finals. Josh competed with fellow apprentice, Josh Derry, at this year’s World Skills UK competition which took place at the Birmingham NEC.
The national finals formed part of the World Skills Show, which is the largest careers and skills event in the UK, where the best of the nation’s young talent come together to compete.
Along with the Bronze medal, both apprentices received a certificate, tools and a cheque for their outstanding achievements, which were presented to them at the competition’s closing ceremony.
Speaking about this latest success, in a growing list of high achieving SES apprentices from around its UK offices, Steve Bradshaw, the company’s labour manager, commented:
“This is a truly remarkable achievement for our apprentices. They tested themselves against some of the UK’s most highly skilled individuals in their respective trades and their success is further evidence that our commitment to training is putting us at the forefront of our industry.”
