Why use vegetable oil in an eco generator?

Green, environmentally friendly or eco-friendly generators are great for the environment. This is because they produce far less carbon emissions than a standard petrol generator. They also utilize a fuel that is sustainable and very clean.

For most eco generators vegetable oil is used as the main source of energy, often times it is mixed with a percentage of diesel fuel; but there are more and more generators being built that run purely on vegetable oil. The benefit of vegetable oil is that it is extremely clean; any burn off from this oil will not harm the atmosphere.

Vegetable oil is also quite sustainable as well; some run generators on vegetable oil that is sourced directly from restaurants or other eateries. This used veg oil, which might have had a past life in frying chicken, will now be put to use running a generator.

This practice actually makes an already positively green process even greener, because the used oil. This shows just how renewable vegetable oil really can be. It can be used in a number of times in its life cycle before it’s done.

Yet another great benefit of using veg oil, or a veg oil and diesel blend in a generator is safety. This biofuel mixture will not burn nearly as hot as conventional petrol fuel. Additionally, due to this, it is far less flammable, which adds yet another level of safety and security.

As green issues move more and more to the forefront over the next few years, it is more than likely that eco-friendly generators that run on biofuels will become far more common and even more efficient.
