Happy 2013 from cart abandonment leader Ve Interactive

Working in the ‘Industrial Internet’ as Ve Interactive does, (in our case, bringing digital intelligence to the online retail world), has proved a completely fascinating and absorbing endeavour in 2012. Ve Interactive has been a driver of the industry too, evolving and investing in the wider basket abandonment, cart recovery, remarketing and optimisation technologies and services that we create and offer to our clients.

And this shows no sign of letting up in 2013, indeed the momentum is building, with exciting announcements ahead. In brief it’s been a year where we attempted to be a force for good in business itself and this also extended into our #TechAid pro bono work for our charity partner Concern Universal too. Ve is proud not to be a company that is married to a sole idea alone, but instead we always seeked to revise, extend and invent, to better serve our wonderful clients and so provide continued relevancy - a business model that the great Sir Richard Branson himself endorses.

It’s been a landmark year for achievements and so, if we were to bury a Ve time capsule for 2012, here’s five standout memories we would like to include:

1. This time last year we were posting our 2011 review from beautiful Brazil, where we were on the cusp of opening our Ve Brasil office in the incredible city of Sao Paulo. Just a few months later, this was followed by the opening of Ve DACH, which now has grown to two offices; Berlin and Munich, covering the German, Swiss and Austrian markets.

2. In July, we acquired Adaptive Consultancy and together launched VeCommerce, the world’s first e-commerce platform to have integrated cart recovery and remarketing software, and then we launched our first basket abandonment app too - for VeMerchant.

3. In 2012, three of our seven global offices have had to move to bigger premises (the UK included, which is now delighted to be a part of London’s exciting Tech City) and so our total headcount is now almost 200 staff worldwide. On that note, if anyone’s looking for a new challenge in 2013, we’re still hiring…

4). We held out first ever inter-co global conference, a week long event with Ve execs flying in from all our other international offices.

5). And finally 2012 brought us a raft of presitigous award nominations and wins, including being named Marketing Services Company of the Year in the Drum Awards, winning a bronze medal in the Stevie International Business Awards for ‘Most Innovative Company in Europe,’ and closing out December with two exciting nominations for 2013; a Data Strategy Award, powered by Marketing Week and a People’s Award in the Tech Europas. (There’s still time to vote for us by the way!)

And then there was the softer stuff; VeFC demonstrating their silky skills in a local London league; the two Ve babies who arrived and our first inter-co wedding! It’s been a special year.

So this January, we want to say thank you all to all our fantastic clients, to our supportive shareholders who cheer us on so enthusiastically and to our hardworking, creative (and fun to work with) colleagues all around the world. Between you, you made 2012 such a special and landmark year.

And what’s next for 2013? Stay tuned!
