MBE joins fast growing print firm

FAMILY-RUN business JAK Print & Design has added a new non-executive director to its ranks as it looks to continue the rapid growth it has enjoyed in recent years.

The company, which has offices in Chester-le-Street and Darlington, has welcomed financial and commercial industry heavyweight Gary Lumby MBE to its team.

Mr Lumby, who was awarded an MBE for services to the financial services industry in 2008, is currently executive director of management consultancy Focus on Success.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (Scotland) and previously spent over 30 years in the banking industry, culminating in the role of director of Small Business Banking for both Yorkshire Bank and Clydesdale Banks.

He joins JAK at a time when the firm is enjoying a rapid growth spurt, having doubled its turnover in the last two years and grown its team significantly.

The company also continues to grow its global reach and is now shipping goods to as far afield as the US, Canada and Afghanistan.

JAK owner John Knowles, who runs the business with his son Andrew, said: “Gary’s vast experience within the financial and commercial industry and extensive business contacts will benefit us greatly as a business.

“He has a prolific track record in helping SMEs achieve their ambitions and we are delighted to welcome him into the company.”
