Success Quotes and How to Use Them Effectively

I originally sourced these success quotes to motivate and inspire the wonderful businesswomen in our Success Club and realised they’re too good to keep to ourselves! I’ve added questions to challenge you to really internalize and take on board the specific learning in each. I suggest you choose those that resonate most with you, answer the questions and take action on what you learn.

Enjoy, and do let me know how you get on……….……

1. “Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
Mark Twain

What have you been putting off doing in your business because you’re fearful?

What will you regret not trying?

When will you start?

2. “Somehow I can’t believe that there are any heights that can’t be scaled by a man who knows the secrets of making dreams come true. This special secret, it seems to me, can be summarized in four C’s. They are Curiosity, Confidence, Courage, and Constancy, and the greatest of all is Confidence. When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionably!”
Walt Disney

Where are you lacking confidence and self-belief?

What/who can help you develop it?

What will you do? When?

3. “Live in your imagination and not your memory.”
Steven Covey

What are your dreams and goals for your business? Write them down

Where in your business do you currently limit yourself?

What are still holding onto that no longer fits with who you are and what you want for your business and your life?

4. “Whenever you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision.”
Peter Drucker

What courageous decision will you make today?

How will you ensure you follow it through?

5. “Doubt is often the beginning of wisdom.”
M. Scott Peck

What/where are you currently doubting?

What does this mean you’re learning?

How can you use this learning?

6. “As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.”
Johann Wolfgang van Goethe

How often do you listen to your intuition?

What’s your trust level in yourself?

How can you improve it?

7. “The first and most important step toward success is the feeling that we can succeed.”
Nelson Boswell

How do you feel about yourself and your chances of success this year?

What can you do to feel (even) better?

How can you build this into your daily routine?

And the story………..

A Native American elder once described his own inner struggles ………..…. “Inside of me there are two dogs. One of the dogs is unhappy, insecure and full of doubt. The other dog is joyful and confident. The unhappy dog fights the joyful dog all the time.”

When asked which dog wins, he reflected for a moment and replied, “The one I feed the most.”

Which one do you feed the most?

What can you do to feed the joyful one (even) more?
