Liverpool scrap merchant calls in administrators
Merseyside-based scrap merchant L Rifkin has called in administrators following redundancy announcements made to its 14 employees in Kirkdale.
The family wholesale waste business, which was established in 1956, appointed Kerry Bailey and Jon Newell from PKF accountants as joint administrators.
Kerry Bailey commented: “We have already had a significant amount of interest in the business from potential buyers, despite only being appointed yesterday.
“It’s too early to say if the company can definitely be re-started, but that’s certainly one of the options that we’re exploring at this stage.”
The administrators called for any parties interested in buying the business to make themselves known.
