Nortech, which is based at Wynyard, Stockton-On-Tees relegated competing companies Reef Subsea Power and Umbilical and Wells Solutions to runners-up positions in the Newcomer of the Year category at the prestigious event held at Teesside University.
The rapidly expanding firm, which now employs 71 members of staff, serves the process, offshore, onshore oil & gas, steel and iron industries.
Bryan Bunn, Managing Director of Nortech, said: “As a company, we’re delighted to win the Newcomer of the Year for the Tees Valley region. It really is the icing on the cake for a fantastic two years in business.
“The company has experienced phenomenal growth since we set up in April 2011. We’re very proud of our achievements and are looking forward to further building on our reputation in the expanding oil and gas market.”
The winning companies from each of the sub-regional heats will go through to the regional final of the North East Business Awards, which will be held at Hardwick Hall Hotel on Thursday, April 25.
