White Rose Office Park Appoints Energy Experts

Munroe K has appointed a team of specialists, Leeds-based GMI Energy, to improve the energy efficiency at their 500,000sq ft White Rose Office Park in Leeds.

GMI Energy is a division of GMI Group whose construction arm has built all the office accommodation at White Rose Office Park. The team has already provided a new LED lighting system for the car parks which has replaced 200 fluorescent lights, reducing the energy consumption of one car park alone by 70%.

David Aspin said; “We are continually assessing the teams we have in place at White Rose Office Park and strive to have the best people in the business working with us. Reducing our carbon output is of utmost importance to me and the investment into new technologies will inevitably contribute to the future of the park. This recent appointment of GMI Energy follows the addition of CBRE to our lettings team and further strengthens our position as Leeds’ most forward-thinking office park.”

Jonathan Shires, Director of Office Agency at CBRE Leeds, continued; “Occupiers are very energy aware and any measures taken to make the accommodation at White Rose Office Park even more green will undoubtedly increase its already significant appeal. Munroe K continually invests in the park and the people that work there and just by changing something as simple as the lighting system have made a CO2 saving of 95 tonnes a year.”

Carl Nielsen Managing Director of GMI Energy, added; “GMI offer the complete solution from advice to installation with analytics to support systems. This means that Munroe K can provide its tenants, who have carbon targets of their own, support and documentation for their own accounts.”

GMI is at the forefront of sustainable development in the UK, leading the way with smart building technology and environmental intelligence. GMI Energy manages every project from start to finish, with an in-house team of energy experts and extensive knowledge and experience in the construction industry.
