Gradvert wins free office space for a year

This month Gradvert was selected by East Durham Business Service (EDBS) as the winner of their ‘free office space for a year’ competition following a challenging two stage application process. The results were unveiled at the grand unveiling of the EDBS new Business Centre - Novus Seaham.

Peter Chapman, Chief Executive of EDBS said: “We had a fantastic response to our competition and it was difficult to choose the four shortlisted businesses who, in the end, were all worthy winners. We knew we had a winner though when we saw the Gradvert pitch”.

In their pitch, Gradvert shared their plans to change the way graduate recruitment is viewed in the UK by providing low cost social media based advertising and specialist head hunting services to find the perfect candidates for long term success. To add further value, the company helps businesses to launch compelling graduate schemes and provides coaching to every placed candidate at no extra charge.

Since launching in September 2012, Gradvert has already filled eight vacancies, has launched a brand new graduate scheme in Software Engineering and has worked with clients such as Barratt Homes and Gentoo Genie.

Lisa Bean, Managing Director of Gradvert said: “We’re beyond pleased to have won the space at Novus Seaham, it really will transform our business and allow us to concentrate on growing and helping our region’s graduates.

“We can’t thank EDBS enough – it’s been such a nerve-wracking wait to find out if we’d won so now we cannot stop smiling. It’s fortunate too as we have now employed one member of staff and are recruiting a second.”

EDBS shortlisted four outstanding businesses following an initial application stage: Training Links North East, the UK Language Project, A Ward Heating and Renewables and Gradvert. Gradvert, will be based at Novus Seaham rent, service charge and business rates free for a whole year.
