Parker domnick hunter to consolidate North East sites
Manufacturing will become more streamlined for Parker domnick hunter as plans are unveiled to consolidate three North East sites into one.
The Filtration and Separation Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation have announced plans to strengthen its global competitive position by consolidating existing sites in the region.
Employees working at the Greencroft Units 6 & 9 in Stanley, County Durham will be relocated to the Team Valley, Gateshead site.
The company, which offers a range of filtration and separation solutions, plans to maintain current employment levels at approximately 400.
Derek Turnbull, General manager of the division said: “This consolidation gives us the opportunity to sharpen our focus and drive operating efficiencies by deploying lean manufacturing practices under one roof.
“By taking this step, we unlock the potential to increase productivity and expand plant capacity utilisation that supports future growth in our business.
“Importantly, by streamlining manufacturing we better position ourselves to compete in a turbulent global market, ultimately safeguarding jobs on Tyneside.”
The transition of manufacturing operations and employees will begin immediately and is expected to be completed over the next six months.
Established 50 years ago, domnick hunter operates from manufacturing sites in the North East and the Netherlands to design, develop, manufacture and market compressed air filters.
