Bannatyne's member to raise money for Cancer Research

A dedicated exercise fan is to put his fitness to the test as he attacks a mammoth workout at Bannatyne’s Health Club in Chester-le-Street, in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Bannatyne’s member Ian Pow, will embark on the philanthropic workout on 16 May that will last for six hours, which will include various exercises working out his whole body, ranging from weight training to swimming.

He is targeting raising £1000 by taking on the challenge.

Ian, 51, has been a member of Bannatyne’s for eight years and is a regular user of the health club’s facilities, training five times a week. He is also no stranger to charitable causes, as he donates regularly to various charities each year.

Ian said: “Cancer is something that touches everybody in some way or another with the many kinds of the disease that are out there. I’ve been around health clubs all my life so it is perfect to be having a fundraiser at Bannatyne’s.

“Cancer Research UK is a very worthwhile charity and is a cause that I am more than happy to raise vital funds for.”

Daniel Gray, General Manager of Bannatyne’s Health Club Chester-le-Street, said: “Ian is demonstrating how you can use a healthy lifestyle and passion for fitness to support an important charitable cause. We are more than happy to support Ian in his endeavour, which I’m sure will be challenging, but one that we are certain he can achieve.

“It is a very meaningful cause that Ian is raising money for and we will assist Ian in any way that we can to ensure that his charitable workout runs smoothly.”
