The week's North West appointments
Last week saw a number of moves and appointments in the North West. Here, Bdaily gives a roundup of some of the significant manoeuvres.
Clearwater Corporate Finance promoted John Clarke to director in its Manchester office, alongside three additional promotions across the firm’s London, Nottingham and Birmingham sites.
Mr Clarke joined Clearwater in 2010 after more than seven years in corporate finance. Recent transactions he has advised on include the sale of Direct Group for LDC and the acquisition of Dunedin owned Capula by Imtech N.V.
Manchester law firm Marks & Clerk announced the recruitment of Gordon Ellis, who will join the chemistry team, and Chris Tevlin, who will join the electronics team.
Mr Ellis is a chartered and European patent attorney and has worked as a patent attorney and a scientist, with his previous role at Fujifilm Imaging Colorants Ltd.
Mr Tevlin will be training to qualify as a chartered and European patent attorney with Marks & Clerk. He has a background in physics and engineering.
Hot on the heels of a major re-brand at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Louise Timperley has been appointed to a newly created role as Head of Skills.
Ms Timperley has led the skills delivery for a national training provider and has been an executive board member on the Greater Manchester Learning Provider Network.
A number of changes occurred on the board of the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership, with four new members.
Juergen Maier from Siemens, Lou Cordwell from design agency Magnetic North, David Birch from Mckinsey and Co. joined the board alongside Wayne Jones, chief executive of MAN Primeserv Diesel.
Sale-based law firm Slater Heelis LLP welcomed three new additions to its team, with Caroline Jack, Tom Christie and Max Swindley appointed to the already 75-strong workforce.
First Choice Homes Oldham also announced the appointment of David Woods as homes and investment director from Liverpool Mutual Homes, where he was assistant director of property services.
