Yorkshire estate agency on fast track to success
Yorkshire-founded Hunters is now officially the UK’s fastest-growing, independent estate agency group with over 100 independently owned branches nationwide, including Harrogate, Ilkley, Leeds, Pudsey, Yeadon and Chapel Allerton.
Having opened its first branch 21 years ago in York, Hunters rapidly expanded across the north to become a prominent and well-respected force in Leeds, York, Harrogate and Wetherby.
By 2011, the estate agency had 49 branches and in 2011, Hunters entered the London market for the very first time and added 60 further offices, through its acquisition of Countrywide’s Bairstow Eves franchised branches.
Today, Hunters operates in city centres including Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Hull – and has over 30 branches throughout London and the south east, including Baker Street and West Hampstead in the capital and Chichester in the south. There are plans to open a further 30 more branches throughout 2013.
Kevin Hollinrake, managing director and Hunters founder, said: “Since 1992, we have grown rapidly, both organically and through acquisitions, to become the UK’s fastest-growing independent estate agency network.
“I believe that much of our success lies in our infrastructure - our independently owned franchised branches are run by business owners who are experts in their own local area – which gives our customers real value. Our ambition is to become the nation’s favourite estate agency brand by 2015 and to achieve this we are investing more time, money, expertise and technology than any other estate agency in the UK.”
Franchisees throughout the network agree, including Lester Hurst, partner at Hunters in Ilkley, Yorkshire. He commented: “Being independently owned is a massive selling point. We’re there 24/7 for our clients and offer a truly personal service.”
