North East firms invited to explore US
North East businesses are being invited to explore opportunities in the USA as part of a UKTI-led trade delegation.
In October companies will travel to the West Coast to meet potential partners and clients in business services, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, energy, consumer goods and ICT sectors.
Simon Crosby, UKTI’s Lead International Trade Adviser for the North East, said: “This is a valuable and exciting opportunity for North East companies to visit the West Coast USA and discover some of the wealth of export opportunities available there.
“UKTI’s expert advisers both here and in the USA can arrange for networking and contact meetings to ensure that those who join the trip get every chance to convert interest into business.
“The visit programme is centred in Los Angeles and San Francisco, but there will be flexibility to allow delegates the freedom to follow their own itineraries in other business centres in the USA.”
The visit coincides with major Los Angeles technology and manufacturing convention WESTEC.
The trip takes place between 12-19 October 2013 and the eligible SMEs will receive £500 towards the cost of flights and accommodation.
Ahead of the Market Visit there is an opportunity to find out more about markets in the USA at a seminar held by Simon Crosby as part of the Tees Valley Business Summit held on 4 July at Teesside University.
