North East new starts round up

The North East has seen a number of appointments and job manoeuvres in recent weeks. Here, Bdaily gives a roundup of some of the significant changes.

Construction and development firm Southdale appointed two new senior managers, Mark Wilson and David Peat, to it’s North East division.

The two will join the team in Darlington with more than 60 years of experience between them across construction, property and the housing market.

In the law sector, Clarke Mairs LLP appointed private client law specialist Emma Pringle to its Newcastle office.

Emma will head up the Private Client Services division, after graduating from the University of Northumbria and qualifying as a solicitor in 2006.

Elsewhere, Wearside law firm Sweeney Miller announced Surbhi Vedhara as a new partner to coincide with their 10th anniversary last year.

Surbhi has bought founding member Peter Sweeney’s stake in the firm, while he will continue to work with the business on a consultancy basis.

In Sunderland, Peterlee and Thornaby, 21 employees at npower have been promoted to team managers after going through the company’s ‘Stepping Stones’ career development programme.

Each employee has achieved a Level 2 Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) qualifications, and can now begin to progress through to Level 5 ILM.

Meanwhile, finance professional Dawn Chambers has returned to regional fund management firm, NEL Fund Managers, after working there until 2006.

After taking a break to have the first of her two children, Dawn will rejoin the company to work in its operations team as a management accountant.

Barratt Home North East also recently strengthened its sales team with the appointment of Tracey Iles and Gillian Bell.

Tracey will take the role of Senior Sales Manager, and Gillian will take the position of Sales Manager.
