Has Japan had the last word on EU?
Is the EU in-out debate now dead in the water? Japan has warned that its businesses in the UK could be forced to review their position if we were to exit the EU.
Surely this is the most compelling argument against EU withdrawl yet, and will lay to waste Eurosceptic claims that countries would continue to invest in the UK regardless of EU ties.
The Japanese embassy made the comments to the Sunday Times, ahead of this week’s government report detailing different countries’ views on the UK-EU question. It will be interesting to see other responses in the consultation.
