Award-winning ice cream lands on sea front
Award-winning ice cream is now available on a rejuvenated North East sea front.
Archer’s Jersey Ice Cream, a highly-successful family business established in 2004, has now opened on Redcar seafront within the town’s inspiring ‘Palace Hub’.
The Redcar café is operated by John and Sue Archer, who opened their first parlour on their farm at Walworth Gate, Darlington, and use milk from their award-winning pedigree Jersey herd to create a wide range of ice cream flavours and products.
Sue Archer, of Archers, said: “We are thrilled to finally be open, we love the North East coast and this is a great opportunity for us.
“People who have visited us have been really positive about our ice-creams and we are finding that cinder toffee ice-cream is proving the most popular at the moment, but with 28 different flavours to try, we would love more visitors to come down and let us know what they think.
“As well as our fresh Italian style ice cream, we serve our own blend coffee, teas, hot chocolate and speciality ice cream cakes, always with a warm welcome.”
Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, Cllr Olwyn Peters added: “This is fantastic news for Redcar and we are really pleased to welcome Archers ice cream who are renowned across the North East for their delicious ice cream.
“We are seeing thousands of visitors flocking to the seafront this summer, particularly throughout the fantastic weather and these days you get a real sense that things are changing.”
