Session Digital delivers 3663 the industry’s first HTML mobile-optimised site
Multiple device compatibility is key for customer efficiency
August 2013 – With the ever increasing use of smartphones and tablets, multiple device compatibility and web accessibility is vastly becoming an essential component for the successful running of any business. As a result, 3663, a leading foodservice wholesale distributor, has worked with its e-commerce partner, Session Digital, to create the delivered food wholesale industry’s first HTML mobile-optimised site.
The mobile site, which aims to provide flexibility and unlimited access to its product catalogue and ordering services, ensures that 3663 is able to reach a more diverse group of customers and potential clients. By offering purchasers a more convenient way to engage 3663 provides a compelling advantage over their competitors.
Having already created a dedicated app, the 3663 team identified the value of having a website which works on a mobile phone, regardless of brand or operating system. Following an initial brief, Session Digital and the team collaborated and built the HTML website. Throughout this process the website was tested extensively and continually tweaked in line with beta feedback from existing customers.
Nicholas Weber, Head of E-Commerce at 3663, stated “We’ve been working with Session Digital since 2010 and have built a strong and effective relationship with them. Knowing that we had a full team dedicated to all aspects of the project from design to development and a devoted mobile team, was a definite advantage and helped us to meet tight timescales. We’re delighted to bring this website to the market and our customers and we’ve set an industry first for delivered food wholesaling by putting our customers’ best interests at the forefront of all our decisions.”
Richard Jackson, Co-Founder and Director at Session Digital welcomed the collaboration, noting, “It’s been an absolute pleasure working with 3663 to help them to develop their e-commerce platforms and we were thrilled to be able to deliver this industry-first project for them.”
