Extra care housing project for Chester
A £6.6m contract to build an extra care housing project has been awarded to the Galliford Try Partnerships north west construction group.
The group has been appointed by Crewe-based Wulvern Housing for the residential scheme in Blacon near Chester, which consists of 24 one-bedroom apartments, 36 two-bedroom apartments and three two-bed wheelchair friendly apartments along with landscaping works.
Accompanying the new homes will be a variety of facilities for residents including a bistro, event area, craft workshop and hair and beauty salon.
Darren Leary, development director at Galliford Try Partnerships North West, said: “We are delighted to have secured the contract to deliver this outstanding scheme which will provide fantastic facilities to the local community.
“Building upon Partnerships’ expertise in the extra care sector, the scheme represents our first opportunity to work in partnership with Wulvern and we look forward to delivering a high quality development for their residents.”
Galliford Try is headquartered in Uxbridge and its ‘Partnerships’ division specialises in working alongside public sector clients to deliver affordable housing, health, leisure and community facilities.
