GDA Creative Marketing targets £2m turnover following management buy-out

Barnsley-based GDA Creative Marketing Limited has been acquired for an undisclosed sum following the retirement of founder and chairman Graham Dawson.

With funding from RBS, two leading figures from within the business have completed a management buy-out - MD Alistair Farrant and creative director Jem Hager.

The duo have announced ambitious plans to double GDA’s turnover to over £2m in the next five years and are already well on their way after four recent new business wins.

Alistair Farrant said: “Graham founded a vibrant, creative agency starting with just one employee, Jem, and gained a strong reputation in the north of England, particularly across the property sector.

“We are building on his legacy - diversifying our areas of expertise to include digital marketing and app development, whilst expanding into new sectors including social housing and manufacturing.”

The four new clients won by GDA Creative Marketing Limited, which employs ten people at its Barnsley base, include projects for Sheffield architects Coda Studios; Coast and Country Housing in Redcar; Arkote, a Sheffield-based manufacturer of precision knives for the tobacco industry and Environmental Essentials, an asbestos management company in Staffordshire.

hlw Keeble Hawson, one of Yorkshire’s biggest law firms with offices in Doncaster, Sheffield and Leeds, advised GDA in the buy-out.
